Meursault is the most unique character, as throughout the novel he shows a complete lack of any emotions and does not have feelings for others.  His amoral approach to life would leave him unbothered by the Russian governments’ views.  While he would understand why and how the laws could affect those who are LGBT, he would not be compelled to boycott as the laws would not affect him directly.   Meursault is emotionally detached from all things, he does not shed a single tear at the loss of his mother, nor does he react to having killed a man.  He may have felt regret or perhaps remorse; however his detachment keeps him from reacting.  To be involved in the LGBT boycott, Meursault would have to go out his way to prevent himself from being a part of them in any way. Therefore his support for the LGBT community would be unreasonable in his mind.
